Take a good look at this poor woman, and tell me what she ever did to anyone? What crime did she commit to justify this life? It isn’t living, its humiliating, demoralizing and inhuman.
Survival is tough enough for the employed, imagine trying to live without ANY resources. Being subjected to exclusion in a democracy, as a minority, is a crime against humanity, and yet the world is strangely silent on the situation we face daily. We are portrayed as a cruel, alcoholic and drug addicted race, which relates to a small percentage of our squatter camp residents, but certainly not to all. What about the elderly , young and ill? What about you? This could be your future.
We complain about load shedding, e tolls,rugby, cricket and petrol prices very vocally, why don’t we voice our opinion about exclusion against a minority? What is wrong with us, have we lost our humanity? Or, are we just so grateful not to be a statistic?
Are we going to just accept this situation, or do we work as one to address and solve this atrocity? Government is implementing laws daily to exclude you further, soon you won’t be allowed to own a home, expropriation is the new exclusion, when is it no longer acceptable? At what point is it enough? Only today is guaranteed, tomorrow might not be soon enough.
