Concerted efforts by K9 unit members to fight the scourge of drugs are yielding results. Members of the Worcester K9 pursued information about the exchange of drugs at a business along the N1 in the Worcester area on Wednesday evening. At about 22:00 the members stopped a vehicle and searched it.

Inside the vehicle they discovered a big bag containing dagga weighing 21 kilograms. Two suspects aged 30 and 32 were subsequently apprehended. They face drug dealing charges.

Meanwhile at approximately the same time other Worcester K9 members on the same route pulled over another vehicle. In the vehicle they found 350 mandrax tablets. Three suspects in the vehicle aged 23, 25 and 27 were arrested.

The suspects are believed to have strong links to gangs in Worcester.

All arrested suspects will appear in court in Worcester on Tuesday on charges of dealing in drugs.
