
The Acting Provincial Head of the Hawks in the Western Cape, Brigadier Ramovha, has welcomed the sentencing of two Zimbabwean nationals by the Worcester Regional Court on 21 July 2025, following a plea agreement with the state.
The accused, Albert Tinemhamo Nemara (34) and Tinashe Mhonde (24), were convicted on charges related to drug trafficking and immigration offenses.
Sentencing Details:

Count 1: Contravention of the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act (Act 140 of 1992) – Each accused was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment, with 5 years suspended for five years.

Count 2: Contravention of the Immigration Act (Act 13 of 2002) – Each received 4 months’ direct imprisonment.
The court ruled that the sentence for Count 2 would run concurrently with Count 1, meaning each convict will serve an effective seven (7) years in prison.
