
Woodstock police have reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug distribution and substance abuse in vulnerable communities following a successful intelligence-driven operation over the weekend.
On Saturday, 05 July 2025, officers acted on credible information regarding two suspected drug outlets in Wright Street. The first raid led to the arrest of a 69-year-old man for drug possession. A subsequent search of his property uncovered 45 units of heroin and mandrax tablets.
In a simultaneous operation at a second premises on the same street, police apprehended a 40-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man. A search of their residence yielded 245 sachets of tik, 13 units of Unga, and seven and a half mandrax tablets.
All suspects are expected to face charges related to drug possession and dealing. Once formally charged, they will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court.
The Woodstock Police have reiterated their ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks plaguing local communities, urging residents to continue reporting suspicious activities.
