On Saturday 19 June 2021, at about 22:00 members of the Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit executed a search warrant at an address in Sheppard Way, Lavender Hill.

Upon searching the premises the members found 57 small packets containing tik, one packet of crystal meth, 15 sachets dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A 28-year-old female suspect was arrested and will appear in Wynberg Magistrate’s court on Monday, 21 June 2021

In an unrelated matter, efforts to rid our communities of illegal possession of firearms yielded positive results when members of the Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 21 year old male for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in St Blaise Street, St Montague Village on Saturday, 19 June 2021 at about 21:10.

Members were busy with patrols when they spotted a suspicious looking male walking in the street. He was stopped and searched and found to be in possession of a 9mm pistol and nine rounds of ammunition.

Once charged the suspect will appear in Wynberg Magistrate’s court.
