Continued efforts to eradicate the prevalence and distribution of drugs in the Western Cape was dealt a blow when members of Operation Restore pounced on residents in Kraaifontein and Gugulethu and confiscated drugs and arrested various suspects.
The members operationalized the information received about drugs at premises in Scottsdene, Kraaifontein on Thursday evening. Upon conducting a search of the identified premises, the members found 957 mandrax tablets, cocaine and crystal meth on the premises. An adult female and two adult males were arrested for the possession of drugs.
They will appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrates’ court once they have been charged.
Furthermore members of Operation Restore deployed in Guguletu policing precinct searched a premises in NY 89 and confiscated 2012 mandrax tablets, five rounds of ammunition and an undisclosed amount of cash. A 40-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs and the illegal possession of ammunition.
He will appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ court on Monday, 11 September 2023 on the mentioned charges.
