Western Cape detective boss Maj Gen Jeremy Vearey is being investigated for kidnapping, torture, and is now being prosecuted for alleged defeating the ends of justice.

The station commander of Mitchells Plain, Brigadier Cass Goolam, is apparently also being investigated by intelligence officers.

The two senior police officers apparently framed two men for the killing of Mervin Jacobs in 2009.

The suspicion is that the two are not the only officers who are guilty of such offenses in the province.
