Nyanga members who were deployed in the area of Crossroads to address and prevent house robberies arrested four suspects for house robberies that were committed in Mgababa and Situlo roads in Crossroads.

One suspect, 32 was arrested on a warrant of arrest regarding a house robbery case he committed in August 2017, in Situlo Road. The suspect and his accomplice had allegedly kicked doors of a flat while the complainant and a friend were sleeping, pointed them with firearms and robbed them of a plasma TV, an amplifier and two cellphones and fled the scene.

The suspect has committed other house robberies and other serious crimes in Nyanga, Mitchells Plain, Mowbray and other areas.

While the other three suspects aged 15, 19 and 23 allegedly robbed a Plasma, amplify, a laptop and a smartphone on Wednesday last week at about 02:30 Mgababa Street in Boystown. The complainant was sleeping when he heard a bang noise and two suspects, one armed with a firearm entered the house and ransacked the house. The third suspect joined the two to assist in collecting the items.

They are all expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrate Court on Friday, 24 January 2020 facing house robbery charges.

The members were praised for their efforts to ensure the four are brought to book.
