Members of Villiersdorp Neighbourhood Watch were busy with foot patrols on Saturday 16 July 2022. When they entered Disa Street at around 20:20, they saw a suspicious person sitting close to a shop in the road and searched him.

They confiscated a 9mm pistol with ammunition.

The 40-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

In an unrelated incident, police members of Nuwerus spotted a suspicious vehicle near Bitterfontein on Saturday 16 July at around 01:20. The members stopped the vehicle in Main Road and searched the occupants and the vehicle.

They confiscated four bags of succulents and arrested three males between the ages between 21 and 61 on a charge of possession of flora without a valid permit.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Caledon and Klawer Magistrate court’s on the mentioned charges.
