Police members attached to the Provincial Task Team participated in an intelligence driven operation on the night of 21 August 2020, and searched identified residences in Khayelitsha and Guguletu where firearms and ammunition were seized.
In Khayelitsha, the team searched a house in Site B and found firearm with ammunition. Two suspects aged 38 and 41 were arrested.
The members proceeded to Guguletu and upon searching a house, they found pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition. The suspect, a 42-year-old woman was arrested on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
All three suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday, 24 August 2020.
