Police members attached to Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit conducted intelligence driven operations on Friday, 17 March 2023 and arrested two suspects.
The team responded to information and searched a drug outlet in Dover Court, Lavender Hill. Upon arrival at the address, they searched the occupants and found a pistol with ammunition in the possession of a male.
They arrested the 46-year-old man on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Whilst the police members were busy executing a search warrant, they confiscated a 9mm pistol and different calibers of ammunition, alcohol and cash.
Two males, aged 57 and 32, were arrested and detained on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and dealing in liquor.
Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges.
