Members of Bishop Lavis SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, recovered yet another firearm in their policing precinct. On Thursday afternoon, 24 October 2019, whilst doing routine patrols in the airport industrial, the members were alerted by one of the petrol attendants about a fraudulent transaction.

When the members approached the vehicle, it was still parked in front of a fuel pump with two occupants.

After engaging with the occupants, the members conducted a thorough search of the vehicle and occupants. The driver of the vehicle could not produce a valid licence when one 9mm Vector Pistol with one Magazine filled with 13 rounds of ammunition were found in between the two front seats.

When the passenger was questioned about the discovery, he indicated that he was not aware of a firearm in the vehicle.

Both males aged 31 and 27 were arrested and they are expected to make a court appearance once charged for possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition.
