Efforts to address gang related and violent crimes in the Bishop Lavis area resulted in the arrest of two Somali men aged 28 and 31 for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition last night, 13 October 2018.

The two suspects were stopped during a vehicle check point on the corners of Bonteheuwel Avenue and Seringa Street when the firearm was discovered hidden in their vehicle.

Once charged, the two suspects are due to make a court appearance in Bishop Lavis.
