In Nyanga, two suspects were arrested this past Saturday 29 February 2020, for separate incidences of murder. A 38-year-old woman handed herself over to the police for allegedly stabbing the deceased in Phantsi Kocingo Informal Settlement, Browns Farm, Nyanga.
The second suspect, aged 35, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted and fatally injured the deceased on Saturday in Thabo Mbeki Informal Settlement. The two suspects were arrested on charges of murder and appeared at the Athlone Magistrates Court.
In an unrelated matter, four suspects aged between 18 and 22 and a 16-year-old minor were arrested on Sunday 1 March 2020, after being found in possession of a vehicle that had been hijacked in Khakakhaka Street on Saturday night In Browns Farm, Nyanga.
All five suspects are expected to appear in Athlone Magistrate Court this week on a charge related to possession of a hijacked vehicle.
