On Friday 24 August 2018 information was received and followed up about a silver VW Polo motor vehicle with an occupant who was allegedly going to be involved in a shooting in Bishop Lavis.

Members of the SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, the Tactical Response Team, Public Order Police, K9 and Bishop Lavis shift members acted immediately and recovered two firearms with live ammunition.

They arrested two suspects’ aged 18 and 24 for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Both suspects will appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court, once they have been charged.
