Criminals who plunder our precious marine resources were dealt a blow on Saturday night, 10 April 2021, at about 23:15 when members attached to Moorreesburg SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested two suspects aged 54 and 55 under the Living Marine Resources Act charges.

The vigilant members were busy with visible patrols on the N7 between Moorreesburg and Koringberg when they saw a suspicious looking Toyota LDV and pulled it off the road.

The members searched the occupants and the vehicle and recovered 4476 crayfish tails and 33 undersized sized crayfish tails in the vehicle worth an estimated R450 900 .00.

The two suspects are due to appear in the Moorreesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12 April 2021 on the mentioned charges.
