Harare police in the Western Cape arrested two suspects who were involved in the shooting of two female traffic officers.
The suspects were arrested on 14 July 2016. The arrest comes after the officers were shot at Harare square in Khayelitsha on Tuesday, 5 July 2016 at 11:25.
The perpetrators took the officers’ cellphones and wallet. One officer was shot in the leg and the other in the stomach and leg while sitting in the vehicle.
The suspects, aged 26 and 30 years old, are facing charges of attempted murder and armed robbery and will appear in Khayelitsha Magistrate Court on Monday, 18 July 2016
This breakthrough is highly commended by SAPS management and sends a strong message that those who are involved in criminal activities will be harshly dealt with.
