Three arrested with stolen motor vehicle, Table View

Three suspects were arrested by vigilant Table View police officers during the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 28 March 2018, when they were found in possession of a stolen vehicle.

During a routine crime prevention patrol in Blaauwberg Road, Table View, SAPS members noticed a man pushing a vehicle. The officers stopped to lend a helping hand. Two occupants were inside the vehicle and they claimed to have problems with the vehicle. During a polite conversation, something mentioned by one of the occupants raised suspicion.

The officers then tested the registration number, which was confirmed to belong to another vehicle. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the vehicle identification number (VIN) did not belong to the vehicle either. In the end it was confirmed that this vehicle had been stolen in Muizenberg a few days ago.

All three occupants (two men and a woman) aged in their thirties were arrested for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The arrested suspects are due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court soon on the said charges.

The members are commended for their good work and vigilance in arresting the suspects.
