Three armed robbery suspects incarcerated

Thorough investigations by our detectives into the circumstances of armed robberies perpetrated in the Mitchells Plain Cluster resulted in the recent incarceration of three suspects.

Eskin Jephta was handed down a sentence of 12 years of which seven years imprisonment are suspended for five years for a business robbery he perpetrated last year July in Athlone.

In an unrelated case, Marlo Bryant and Fabian Hanekom were each sentenced to five years imprisonment for a robbery of a cellular telephone from a 14 year old victim in Strandfontein during October 2014.

Our efforts to fight serious and violent crimes by addressing drug and alcohol related offences also led to the recent sentencing of two suspects. Masaval Abubkar was sentenced R 20 000 or 24 months imprisonment for dealing in drugs during Aril 2016 in Athlone and Donovan Bowers was sentenced R 10 000 or 12 months imprisonment for the possession of drugs, also in Athlone during October 2014.
