Leticia Chatburn (45) appeared at Bellville Regional Court on Thursday 4 July 2019, facing charges of Corruption. Chatburn is one of the six driver’s license examiners arrested on 12 December 2018 for corruption at Lingelethu West, Khayelitsha testing centre along with a security guard.

They allegedly fast-tracked learners and drivers licence dates in exchange for gratification and ensured that undeserving applicants were successful.

She pleaded guilty on all charges and was sentenced to five years imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years with stringent conditions.

The case against five other driver’s license examiners and a security guard continues on 16 July 2019.
