Members of Operation Restore, commitment to rid communities of the scourge of illegal firearms, arrested a 40-year-old man who was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Bellville on Friday evening. The members executed an intelligence-driven operation at an identified premises where they conducted a search of the premises which led to the discovery of a firearm with ammunition.

Furthermore, members of Operation Restore arrested a 48-year-old female for dealing in liquor without a license on Friday afternoon during liquor operations conducted in Delft. The liquor found on the premises was confiscated and handed in as evidence.

An integrated Operation between Saldanha SAPS, the K9 Unit, Military police and Law Enforcement yielded positive results when the members executed a search warrant at a premises in Antonio Street, Diazville on Friday. The members searched the premises and found a firearm without a serial number, 20 small packets containing cocaine and four mandrax tablets in the house. A 30-year-old man was arrested and detained.

The suspects will make their court appearances in the Bellville and Vredenburg Magistrates’ court respectively, once charged.
