Two suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested in Elsies River and Bishop Lavis with various drugs. A 26 year old woman was arrested in possession of 81 half mandrax tablets, 11 full mandrax tablets, 38 tik sachets, 171 stoppe of dagga and cash in Bishop Lavis while the 47 year old was arrested in Elsies River.

Acting on a tip-off, members of Elsies River Crime Prevention Unit arrested the man for possession of ammunition, tik and mandrax tablets in Boaterclose in Elsies River. A further 830 mandrax tablets were found abandoned on Saturday, 19 October 2019 in an open field in Elsies River as well.

Other suspects were arrested in Philippi East and Samora Machel also for dealing in and possession of drugs. Once charged the suspects will appear in Philippi and Bishop Lavis Magistrates Courts for dealing in and possession of drugs.
