Members of Operation Restore deployed on the West Coast conducted a roadblock at the N7 weigh bridge on Saturday morning when they stopped a silver Audi. A search of the vehicle was conducted which led to the discovery of a 9mm pistol with ammunition, found under the driver seat. The driver could not produce a license for a firearm and was therefore arrested.
The 47-year-old man faces a charge for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
He will appear in the Klawer Magistrates’ court on Monday.
