Suspect bust for drugs and alcohol in Montague

A targeted search and seizure operation conducted by members of the Breede River K9 unit, crime intelligence officials and Montague police descended on a house in Pekeur Street in Bergsig, Montague on Friday 22 January 2021 and seized an assortment of drugs and alcohol and arrested a 40-year-old suspect.

The joint forces followed information about drug dealing in Montague and with the assistance of a narcotics dog searched the premises and discovered the following:

Crystal meth
279 Crystal meth straws
250 Mandrax tablets
97 X 5 litre bottles of red wine
8 X 5 litre bottles of white wine
1 X scale

The arrested suspect is expected to appear in court on Monday, 25 January 2021 on charges of dealing in drugs and contravention of the DMA revelations in relation to selling, dispensing and distributing alcohol.
