An intelligence driven operation in conjunction with CIG and the Cluster Crime Combating Unit of Blue Downs Cluster led to the arrest of a 29 year old suspect on 17 May 2019, on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of alleged stolen property and illegal possession of ammunition.
Members acted on information and executed a search warrant at an address in Malawi informal Settlement in Ravensmead and found 1530 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R75 000, 576 rounds of (9mm and .45 rounds) of ammunition, five two-way hand radios and various cellular telephones, possible linked to smash and grab incidents.
The suspect is due to appear in the Goodwood Magistrates court on Monday, 20 May 2019, on the mentioned charges.
