Success in Cape Town CBD police operations

On Friday, 1 July 2016, Cape Town Central Police Station held a joint integrated intelligence driven operation in Cape Town’s Central Business District (CBD).

The following confiscations and/or arrests were made:

A 23 year old Nigerian drug dealer was arrested in Chapel Street, Springfield Terrace, Zonnebloem for possession of one sachet allegedly containing cocaine, and one sachet allegedly containing heroin with an estimated street value of R3000.

On corners of Loop and Waterkant street, Cape Town City Bowl a 37 year old suspect was arrested with 41 packets of tik (crystal meth) with an estimated street value of R 3 500.

17 arrests were made for alleged driving under the influence of alcohol between Long, Loop and Wale streets, Cape Town City Bowl.

15 arrests were made for alleged possession of narcotics, 2 suspects were arrested for possession of dangerous weapons and 1 suspects was arrested for theft out of motor vehicle.

All suspects were detained at Cape Town Central Police Station and will appear at Cape Town Magistrate court on Monday, 4 July 2016.
