A student at the Cape Town Peninsula University of Technology, (KSUT) Tiffany Struwig ( 21), is lucky to be alive after a robber stabbed her right through her pulse and then right in her chest on a train transporting her home from campus on Monday 10 June 2019.

The robber demanded her phone and when she did not want to hand it over immediately she was stabbed twice. The fact that men in the train who saw what happened actually ran away instead of helping is also greatly upsetting to the victim and her family.

After the robber ran away, one man did come forward to assist Tiffany and gave her his cellphone so she could call her mother. Tiffany’s mother fetched her at the Bellville station when the train arrived there. Tiffany was admitted to hospital. She had 2 jackets on and that did assist in the knife not going deeper into her chest.

She could have been dead if the knife entered her heart. Tiffany had two previous scary incidents on the train, once when she was almost thrown off the train and another time when a robber tried to grab her bag which she carried on her back.
