Members attached to Cape Town Central SAPS participated in a partnership policing on the morning of 12 July 2019, when they followed up on reports of a Red Fiat 500 vehicle that was stolen in the area earlier, it was spotted doing rounds in the Cape Town CBD.

Police swift response led to the arrest of three men who were inside the vehicle in Camps Bay, they are facing charges related to theft of a motor vehicle. They are expected to make a court appearance on Monday, 15 July 2019 at Cape Town Magistrates’ Court.

In an unrelated incident, police from Woodstock Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 23 year old after they found him in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Police were conducting foot patrols in the area when they saw the suspect.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commends the community for working closely with the police to ensure that criminals are brought to book.
