Taking into account the needs of the community, Mitchell’s Plain SAPS members reacted to information about a shooting incident that was reported in Tafelsig on 8 March 2018.
Information shared by community members about a house suspected of having illegal firearms led to the confiscation of a plastic bag with 19 x 12 Gauge live rounds of ammunition, and a 33 year old woman was arrested.
Further information shared between the members and community members led to the confiscation of a Winchester 12 Gauge shotgun at a different residence and a 32 year old man was arrested.
Both suspects are expected to make court appearances at the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court to face charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
