The swift response of Atlantis police members landed two suspects behind bars on 14 July 2020, for being in possession of unlicensed firearms. At around 10:00 the members attended to a shooting in progress complaint in Protea Park.

Upon their speedy arrival on the scene, two suspects aged 19 and 20 were arrested with the unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Fortunately no one was wounded or killed when shots were discharged by the two. Once charged, they are expected to make a court appearance in Atlantis.

In an unrelated matter, two suspects aged 23 and 30 were arrested on 14 July 2020, by Cape Town Central members after they were apprehended in the process to steal a motorcycle in the vicinity of Upper Mill Road. The motorcycle they were travelling with was also confiscated as was not fitted with a registration number and could be stolen.

Once charged, they are expected to make their court appearances in Cape Town.
