Gender-Based Violence and Femicide remains high on the agenda of the South African Government and the SAPS, more so to step up its protection over the most vulnerable such as our women and children, not excluding the elderly. Thus ensuring that perpetrators who commit transgressions against them face the full might of the Law and that survivors get the justice they deserve.

Members of the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit successfully executed their mandate when they arrested various suspects during the weekend who now found themselves on the wrong side of the law.

1st Incident

Preliminary investigation suggest that the 24-year old suspect and his accomplice (18), armed with machetes/pangas, early in the morning went to the residence of the 30-year old victim, who is the mother of his 2-year-old child, broke into her residence and took their 2-year-old child with force and returned to his residence.
