Criminals in Manenberg were surprised this morning, 10 August 2018, with an early hour operation conducted in the area to clamp down on illegal firearms and drugs.
The operation resulted in the arrest of nine suspects at a residence in Cathlin Close Heideveld. A search of the residence led to the discovery of a 9mm firearm with the serial number filed off, 497 units of Tik, four packets of uncut Tik valued at R30000-00 and R24800-00 in cash.
In addition to the arrest of nine suspects, a further eight wanted suspects were arrested on outstanding cases.
All the suspects will be charged and appear in Athlone court on Monday 13 August 2018, to face the charges against them.
