SAPS tackle gang violence, serious crime, Cape Flats

Police members attached to Operation Thunder (a national intervention at rooting out gang violence and other serious crimes on the Cape Flats) as well as the Vehicle Identification Unit proceeded to a residence at Isiqalo Informal Settlement where a trailer, various car engine parts, bumpers, chassis parts, doors and dagga worth R3000 estimated street value were seized.

Some of the car parts were linked to theft cases that were reported in Rondebosch and Grassy Park during 2017.

Police arrested a 29 year old male for the possession of drugs and possession of suspected stolen property.

The suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and illegal possession of drugs today, 24 May 2018.
