Police Members attached to Operation Combat joined hands with the community in an effort to rid the Elsies River area of illegal firearms and drugs.
On 27 August 2018, police followed up on information that was provided by the community about illegal activity at a house in Elsies River. Upon their arrival at the address, they found a double barrel shotgun and dagga worth a substantial amount.
Two suspects, a man and woman aged 30 and 33 years respectively, were arrested and are expected to appear in Goodwood Magistrates’ Court once they are charged.
Police also seized a total of 72 live rounds of different calibres of ammunition, after they had found it abandoned.
