Rooting out the evil phenomena of gangsterism, firearms and drugs to protect the Western Cape community was the emphasis of our operation in Bishop Lavis on 28 November 2018.

In Hazeldene Street, Scottsville an 18 year old suspect was arrested for being in possession of a homemade firearm and one round of ammunition.

In Oleander Street, Netreg our members confiscated a variety of drugs comprising mandrax, dagga and dagga cigarettes and R15 901-00 believed to be the proceeds of drug trafficking, and arrested a 35 year old suspect.

In Rembrandt Street, Scottsville, intelligence led us to a residence of a known gangster where an amount of R65880-00 was confiscated as well as a .38 Special revolver.

The circumstances surrounding the seizure are being investigated, after the man was questioned by police.
