Rondebosch police station administration clerk in court for corruption

Investigations by our Anti Corruption Unit led to the arrest of an administration clerk, in the employ of SAPS and stationed at the Rondebosch police station on 27 November 2018 during a sting operation. The 33 year old male suspect is expected to face charges of corruption and extortion in the Wynberg Magistrates court.

It is alleged that the clerk, who dealt with police clearance certificates, earlier this month charged a member of the public an additional fee for a courier service of the documentation to Pretoria.

Corruption is not taken lightly and we will make every endeavour to ensure that the public is served by loyal and law abiding police officials at all times.
