Riots in Cape Town flare up again

Reports are emerging that the protests in Cape Town, near the airport, have flared up again. Members of the community are unhappy with the choice of African National Congress (ANC) candidates chosen.

The N2 is closed for now and motorists are urged to use alternative routes. Reports that demonstrators have blocked the highway and are burning tyres and rubble.

Yesterday two buses were gutted during the rioting and motorist stuck in traffic were victims of robbery. Two suspects were arrested by the South African Police.
