A fire started at about 12:00 on 7 November 2017, and at this stage it is unknown what started the fire.
The fire is at the horseshoe bend on the N2 highway, Sir Lowrys Pass spreading towards Gordon Bay mountainside.
Currently five houses have burned down. Residents of the area have started to evacuate their homes.
A Joint Operational Center (JOC) was established at Strand fire Department.
