R90k worth of mandrax recovered, Plettenberg Bay

Concerted efforts to rid communities of drugs once again yielded positive results when drugs with an estimated street value of R90 000 was confiscated at a house at Kwanokuthula, Plettenberg Bay, on Tuesday, 15 June 2021.

Members attached to the Kwanokuthula police received a tip-off from the public about drugs which has been delivered at a house at Phase 3 at about 09:00.

The members swiftly responded and operationalized the information when they descended on the premises. A search of the premises ensued which resulted in the discovery of 1786 Mandrax tablets which were hidden under a black jacket on a sofa inside the house.

The police confiscated the drugs and arrested a 48 year old man on a charge of dealing in drugs.

The suspect remain in custody. He will appear in court once charged.

Western Cape police management praised the members for their swift response which led to these confiscations. The management also thanked the member of the public who made this valuable report to the police.
