R60k dagga bust, man arrested for dealing, Somerset West
R60k dagga bust, man arrested for dealing, Somerset West

On the night of 16 January 2018, Somerset West police acted on information about illegal activities at a residence in their policing area.

They visited the address and conducted a search that led to the discovery of dagga trees, two bags of loose dagga and dagga cultivating equipment with an estimated street value of R60 000.

The suspect, a 24 year old male was arrested and is facing a charge of dealing in drugs.

He is expected to make a court appearance in the Somerset West Magistrate’s court once he has been charged.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General KE Jula, commended members for addressing one of the province’s crime generators and encouraged them to continue with their sterling work.
