Ambweme Samon Killa (45) was on Friday, 25 November 2022 sentenced to a fine of R100 000-00 by the Bluedowns Regional Court after entering into a plea with the State for possession of drugs worth more than R3.9 million.

He will effectively pay R50 000-00 as half of the fine was suspended for 5 years, Killa had been out on bail of R50 000-00.

His sentence comes after his arrest on 6 December 2021 in a joint operation by members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit together with Crime Intelligence Narcotics and Gangs where they conducted a search at two storage facilities in Durbanville on the same day of his arrest.

Drugs to the value of R3.9 million were confiscated at various storages in Pinehurst, which resulted in the successful disruptive operation targeting drug storage facilities.
