On going operations to combat crime on the train lines in the province were fruitful in Bishop Lavis when police responded to information they received.
A tip off was given about criminals who are allegedly operating during the night in the Bonteheuwel split area, to steal PRASA cables.
Three men with ages 23, 31 and 37 respectively were arrested in possession of a PRASA cable. Once they are charged, the suspects will appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ court on charges related to theft.
The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula, encouraged the SAPS members to continue protecting the interests of communities and strengthen partnerships with external stakeholders.
