On Sunday, 28 December 2025, at approximately 10:30, members of the Leeu Gamka police seized 348 bundles of Khat during a traffic stop on the N1 highway.
The officers stopped a Mercedes Benz taxi during a routine patrol. A search of the vehicle revealed three large bags containing the Khat.
A 42-year-old male occupant was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs. The suspect remains in police custody and will appear in court once formally charged.
