Kraaifontein SAPS members arrested two suspects both aged 40 for possession of a stolen motor vehicle on Thursday, 11 February 2021 in Sweleni Street, Wallacedene, Kraaifontein.

The members followed up information received from the public of a stolen white Toyota Corolla driving in Wallacedene. At around 18:00 they noticed the vehicle standing in Swelini Street, with two occupants. When tested the vehicle was reported stolen on Monday evening, 9 February 2021, in Atlantis.

It was confiscated and the two occupants were arrested and detained at Kraaifontein SAPS on a charge of possession of presumed stolen property. It was later discovered that the one arrested suspect is a police member attached to Harare SAPS.

Both suspects will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court on Monday 15 February 2021.

The Western Cape SAPS management commended the members for their quick response in following up on the information provided and arresting the suspects. They also thanked the community for providing the information that led to the arrest of the police official and his accomplice. Community involvement is pivotal in the fight against crime.
