Vigilant police members attached to Woodstock police, committed to bring the perpetrators to book, on the morning of 25 August 2019, while they were conducting crime prevention duties, spotted two suspicious men walking in the area.

Police observed the suspects disposing of something near one of the houses. Officers pursued the suspects and apprehended them. The members took the suspects back to where they disposed of an object and discovered an unlicensed firearm with ammunition, two suspects aged 24 and 25 were arrested.

In an unrelated incident, Public Order Police (POP) members acted on information received and proceed to an identified house in TR section, Khayelitsha to conduct a search. Police found ammunition and an unlicensed firearm. A 46 year old man was arrested.

Meanwhile police attached to Harare SAPS arrested two suspects aged 24 and 25 for possession of cables. The members were conducting crime prevention when they saw the suspects with cables.

All arrested suspects will appear in the respective courts on Monday 26 August 2019.
