Since more than 1,000 “troops” were deployed in the Cape Flats crime areas, killings have not decreased. In the past week, 47 murders have taken place.

ANC minister Bheki Cele and Alan Winde are both upset over these senseless actions but the state appears to have lost its fight against crime.

Alan Winde will now write a letter to the SA Defense Force asking for a report on the effectiveness of the SANDF.
According to Winde, the army apparently has a lack of resources and sufficient tools.

What kind of tools they need was not mentioned, but it is clear that the presence of the Army has made no difference to the gang violence.
