Pastor Johan van Eeden of the Pentecostal Protestant Church in Mossel Bay was shot dead at his house in De Bakke at 00:30 on 21 July 2018.
According to reports, he went outside to investigate a suspicious noise at his car when he was overpowered and shot dead with his own firearm.
It is the second spiritual leader within a few days that has fallen victim to attackers.
Ds Nico Rautenbach of the APK was recently attacked at his house in Garsfontein and was severely assaulted and he was still in hospital.
