Detectives deployed to investigate serious and violent crimes arrested an 18-year-old juvenile on a charge of murder who is scheduled to make his appearance in the George Magistrates’ court on Monday, 28 June 2021.
Investigation into the murder indicates that the 30-year-old man and the juvenile were at a house at Marilyn Street, Maraiskamp (Conville), George on Friday, 25 June 2021, at about 00:30.
An argument allegedly broke out between the two when the man was stabbed with a sharp object. He sustained a stab wound to his back and fled to another house in the same street where he collapsed. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene. On arrival paramedics declared the victim dead.
The detectives later arrested the suspect. He remains in custody.
A post-mortem to determine the cause of death will be conducted during this week.
Investigation into the killing continues.
