More drugs recovered, suspects arrested, Mitchells Plain

Community assistance resulted in another arrest and drugs confiscated yesterday morning, 23 August 2018 at about 09:00. Police members attached to the Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit arrested a man from Beacon Valley after they received an anonymous tip off that drugs were being sold from a house in Estelle Street, Morgenster in Beacon Valley.

Upon the members’ arrival they searched the premises and they found hidden inside the house 30 small plastic packets of dagga, 28 dagga cigarettes and two plastic packets of dagga.

Police arrested the suspect, aged 24 years. The drugs have an estimated street value of R1000.

Later the same day, 23 August 2018, at about 14:00 police members arrested a 27 year old man in Jungfrau Street, Tafelsig, for the possession of drugs, after they had spotted the suspect in the street, while they were doing a routine vehicle patrol.

The suspect was stopped and searched and they found in his possession 14 small packets of tik, 20 stoppe dagga and 20 half mandrax tablets.

Both suspects appear today, Friday 24 August 2018, in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ Court, on charges relating to the possession of drugs.
