Efforts to rid the communities of illegal substances in the Western Cape province produces positive outcomes daily. The members attached to Lentegeur police station were busy with crime prevention patrols on 17 June 2019, at about 13:00. The members saw a suspicious female near a well known drug outlet in Rose Street, Lentegeur and conducted a body search.

The members found five foil rolls containing a total number of 50 Mandrax tablets in her possession, the suspect aged 28 was arrested.

In another incident at about 17:45 members were continuing with crime prevention duties in Varing Street, Lentegeur when they observed a suspicious male. Members stopped and searched the suspect and they found 200 packets of Tik in his possession. A suspect aged 20 was arrested.

Both suspects will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ Court once charged for possession of drugs.
